Antoni Macierewicz, chief of MON (Ministry of Defence), has proclaimed this during the NATO summit in Brussels.
According to the Minister, we are talking about intelligence work and training. So far, there has been no information on whether Poland will join in any military actions.
The Minister mentioned that the details of Poland’s involvement have yet to be discussed. “We see it in the broad aspect of the situation that NATO finds itself in, counting on the US and NATO to completely support Poland and other Eastern flank countries with their permanent presence,” Macierewicz explains.
“We have began talks about exploratory actions and training. What this will end up being like – that will be decided in the upcoming weeks,” the chief of MON informs us. Antoni Macierewicz talked with the Ash Carter, the US Secretary of Defense, about combating ISIS. There was also talk about directing part of the 3.4 billion dollars that are to be spent on the military presence in Europe in 2017, to Poland.
