The relationship between Poland and Norway has become much closer in recent years. According to a statement issued by the prime minister of Norway, the Norwegian government intends to systematically improve this relationship.
On Tuesday, February 2nd of this year, both prime ministers met in Oslo. Norway was the first Nordic country which the Polish prime minister visited after the change of the Polish government last Autumn. The conversations dealt with the strategy for reinforcing the Norwegian-Polish collaboration in 15 defined areas, also based on EEA funds which should be actively used to promote greater contact and collaboration. One of the key points of the conversations were trade matters. Poland is currently the world’s largest export market for Norwegian seafood, and also Europe’s largest market for Norway’s defense industry. Thanks to EEA funds, collaboration in areas such as scientific research, energy, the environment, culture, criminal justice system, has been blooming.
